Cranes are one machines that are installed with a tower or derrick. There are plenty of cranes that are used today, these cranes are able to pull things up and down with the built in pulleys and cables that is part of itself. There are plenty of those in the construction industry and the heavy equipment manufacturers that see cranes as an opportunity to build up their efficiency in construction of a structure and also can help their employee’s on the ground have a more easier time working. Cranes that are used in the construction industry are naturally and mostly a temporary structure that does not last long, it is built or mounted on a vehicle which the vehicle is specifically built to be able to carry the temporary crane or it can also be fixed to the ground either way is alright and being done.
There are multiple ways of controlling a temporary crane, these methods can either be infrared, radio control or even a built in operating station/control station in which the control station will be manned by a person which does all the pushing and pulling. When it comes to a control station being used as a controlling method, then it is required to have a standardized hand signal communication method to be used so that the controller on the crane would be able to identify what task is required for him or her to do and to be able to avoid accidents with the personnel on the ground that are working or the fragile equipment that is being used. A lot of time would be saved and materials that are badly needed to some parts of the construction site would be sent easily and efficiently through the help of experienced crane crews that are familiar with the hand signals and the commands that the crane has.
As always, there are doubts from the public whether cranes are safe for the workers that are working on the ground, since lately there had been quite an increase in accidents that have resulted in serious injuries or even death due to crane related accidents. Employers and companies in the construction industry have taken action to combat and fight the high risk of crane operation, they have allotted funds to better improvise the technology that is related to the cranes themselves and they even allotted funds and have made educational sessions that would teach the workers how to avoid crane related accidents.
